Balls of clay protect seeds from parching by the sun or being eaten by animals. The balls are scattered on the ground to await rain and dew. When the clay absorbs sufficient moisture, the balls disintegrate and the seeds sprout. This simple, effective and unconventional reforestation method is easy for both children and adults to learn.
